Electric Laboratories Kai’e’e Optical Chorus & Vibrato Guitar Effects Pedal

Up for sale, an Electric Laboratories Kai’e’e Optical Chorous[sp]/Vibrato in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This is an extremely obscure, handcrafted optical chorus/vibrato, with virtually no information available on either the builder or the pedal. However, this is a well-built analog effect, featuring a quad of photocells housed in a cut-down film canister with a Mouser transformer. Tonally, this pedal is lush and atmospheric, with a musical feel and plenty of depth on tap; Kai’e’e translates to “tsunami” in Hawaiian, and this pedal makes good on the promise of surfy bliss. There are independent footswitches for Bypass and to toggle between the Chorus (“Chorous,” as it is spelled on the pedal) and Vibrato, with Volume, Depth Rate, and Speed controls.

There are some minor scuffs on the enclosure, with clean hand-painted graphics (the lettering is stenciled). The original two-prong power cable is included.
