Expanding on a classic pitch shifter platform, this boutique pedal is a single pitch shifting voice with a bevy of unique controls, able to deliver standard shifted tonalities and a slew of wild, bizarre sounds via modulation and arpeggiation.
The pitch can be shifted up or down an octave, with free tuning and half steps, and there are controls for Pitch, Mix, Speed, and Boost, with 32-bit resolution rarely afforded by similarly-sized pitch shifters. When the Speed knob is set to 0, the Wizard of Pitch acts like a standard pitch shifter, but dialing it up engages a cross fade between the wet and dry signals that can result in glitched-out sonic modulation or otherworldly atmospheres. The Bend switch shifts the pitch in conjunction with the decay of the input signal, yielding what Dwarfcraft describe as a “whammy bar” sound, and the Step switch eliminates portamento on the pitch shift, enabling a very unique immediate shifted sound that can really take on a mind of its own.
