Up for sale, a DNA Analogic BL-1 Blue Lagoon Parallel-Phase in near-mint condition, complete with the box and paperwork. This rare pedal is a faithful recreation of the legendary Mu-Tron Bi-Phase, crafted in Japan by Kanda Shokai as part of the Attachment Series, with only 300 units produced. The Blue Lagoon pairs two phasers in one enclosure, faithfully capturing the iconic glassy swirls inherent to the Mu-Tron sound, as heard on countless ‘70s recordings both in the States and Japan. In Japan, the most famous proponent of the Mu-Tron is likely Masayoshi Takanaka, who used the effect on many of his classic recordings; this pedal is named for one of his better-known songs.
Both Phasers have independent Rate and Depth knobs, as well as independent outputs, with output jack B also enabling A + B. Phaser A features a two-way switch between “Gen 1” and “Pedal:” with Gen 1 engaged, the Rate knob dictates the phase shift speed, and with Pedal engaged, phase shift speed can be controlled with an external footswitch (also disengaging the Rate control). Phaser B has a “Sweep Select” three-position rotary control: with “Gen 1” engaged, the Rate control of Phaser A dictates Phaser B’s phase shift speed; with “Gen 2” engaged, Phaser B’s Rate control dictates Phaser B. “Pedal” once again enables footswitch functionality.
There are just a couple faint scratches on the enclosure, and the graphics are pristine.
The original box and paperwork are included.
