Chicago Stompworks’ take on the classic Violet “Rams Head” Big Muff circuit, this pedal is designed to be as accurate and period correct as possible, with carbon film resistors, a mix of mylar and ceramic capacitors, and four modern equivalent 2N5088 silicon transistors. This hand-wired pedal also features true bypass switching and premium pots and jacks. Just like the original Violet Muff, the Tone knob is a reverse hi-cut control. Tonally, this pedal delivers the goods, with an ideal blend of ripping buzzsaw power and smooth low-mids.

The smaller footprint is far more pedalboard-friendly than the original, and there’s limited wear on the no-frills enclosure, with clean silkscreened graphics.
