Up for sale, a 2000s Burny Mockingbird model MG-145S in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Crafted in Japan under Fernandes' Burny banner, this iteration of one of BC Rich's most popular and enduring designs is a signature model for Hide of the heavy metal band, X Japan. The Yellow Heart finish is just about the loudest, brightest visual statement possible on an already eye-catching guitar, with choice phrases including “Spank Me”, “Love Me”, and “Stupid?”This Mockingbird's tonewood complement includes a mahogany body, bolt-on maple neck, and bound rosewood fretboard. The neck position CD-100F Sustainer essentially acts like a built-in E-bow when engaged, offering virtually endless harmonic sustain by continually vibrating the strings. The Sustainer can be engaged, disengaged, or variably blended with normal pickup operation, and the Dimarzio Super Distortion-esque bridge pickup is punchy and thick, interacting well with high gain and providing plenty of midrange cut, chunk and power. Weighing just 6lbs 14oz, this Burny Mockingbird has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.The maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with moderate shoulder at the nut and a gentle increase in overall heft further up the fretboard, measuring .755” deep at the 1st fret and .875” at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard has a 14" radius and features pearloid cloud inlays and medium jumbo frets which are practically perfect with plenty of meat and height, playing cleanly in every register. The scale length is 24 3/4", and the nut measures 1 5/8" in width. On the matching Yellow Heart graphic headstock, the gold-plated Gotoh tuners turn smoothly and hold pitch well.The electronics function as they should, with a Master Volume, three-way pickup selector toggle, mini two-way Volume bypass switch, mini three-way Sustainer control (1. low harmonic 2. sustain at actual note 3. high harmonic), mini two-way Sustainer on/off, and Sustainer Blend knob with center detent. The gold-plated hardware is quite clean overall, with light patina on the bass-side edge of the bridge and bass-side stoptail stud. The original reflector cap knobs are present. Cosmetic wear in the Yellow Heart finish includes a small finish chip on each of the body points, and a pair of small dings on the bass-side lower body edge on top. The gloss finish on the neck profile is smooth and clean with the exception of one shallow mark behind fret 6 that has no impact on playability.The original red padded gigbag is included.
