Up for sale, a Bluetron BlueDrive 2x12 tube amp in exceptional condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original footswitch. Hand-wired by amp guru David “Smitty” Smith in Nashville, TN, the BlueDrive is essentially a custom-made Twin Reverb-style amp in every respect, loaded with a pair of Eminence Red Coat Private Jack 12" speakers.
This BlueDrive delivers warm, articulate cleans with ample bass response, a wide-ranging and responsive EQ, and present, sparkling Fender-style top end. A quintessential Black Panel-style circuit engineered for optimal clarity, headroom, and balance, it's hard to beat the BlueDrive's 6L6 driven platform and 85 watt output. The tube-driven Reverb has good depth and splash, and the photocell Tremolo has a strong pulse and wide range of speeds. An additional Master Volume knob is also present on the back of the chassis.
The circuit is hand-wired with premium signal caps, low-noise carbon film resistors, Alpha pots and robust transformers. The tube complement includes a quad of properly biased Tung Sol 5881 (6L6GC) power tubes along with JJ and Groove Tubes valves in the preamp. The Eminence Red Coat Private Jack 12" ceramic magnet speaker pair delivers a British-flavored tonal profile, balanced-sounding and thick, with lots of midrange and extended highs.
The BlueDrive features a hand-lettered faceplate complete with witch hat knobs, and there is sparingly little wear on the black tolex and silver sparkle grillcloth.
A two-button footswitch for engaging the Reverb and Tremolo is included.
