Up for sale, a 2025 G&L SB-2 in showroom-clean condition complete with CoA, and hangtags. A USA-made iteration of the SB-2 platform (produced at the original Fender/G&L Fullerton, CA factory), this full-scale PJ Bass features Leo Fender-designed pickups and a Saddle-Lock bridge. And given G&L’s recent shuttering of their factory, this is one of the very last SB-2s ever made.
As the third instrument company founded by Leo Fender, G&L's instruments benefit from Leo's decades of experience at Music Man and (of course) Fender. Tonewoods include an alder body, rock maple neck, and slab rosewood fingerboard. With dedicated Volume knobs governing the MFD (Magnetic Field Design) pickup pair, the bass delivers the broad thump and authority of the split coil P pickup, with plenty of power and midrange fullness from the bridge pickup, producing more breadth and power than a traditional J single coil. This SB-2 weighs 9lbs 3oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, comfortable action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
Wood: Hard-Rock Maple (quartersawn)
Shape: Slender C, measuring .820” 1st fret, .920” 12th fret
Fretboard: Maple, 9 1/2” radius, pearl dot inlay
Frets: Medium jumbo, pristine
Scale Length: 34”
Nut: 1 1/2”, bone
Tuners: Clover buttons
Serialization: CLF24-prefix
Body Specs:
Wood: Alder
Pickups: Magnetic Field Design J single coil, P split-coil
Controls: Volume x2, Tone
Hardware: Saddle-Lock bridge, flat-top knurled knobs
Plastics: Three-ply cream pickguard
The Ruby Red Metallic gloss finish is exceptionally clean, with just a few faint scratches in the clear coat, and the satin on the neck profile is flawless.
The original gigbag is included along with CoA and hangtags (dated to 1/20/25).
