Up for sale, a 2025 Fender Made in Japan Godzilla Stratocaster Limited Edition, brand new and sourced direct from Tokyo, complete with the hardshell case, CoA, and hangtags. Godzilla and the Stratocaster both celebrated their 70th anniversaries in 2024; this limited run Fender Japan offering is a collaboration with Toho designed to pay tribute to the legendary “King of Monsters,” boasting a number of custom features to make it as heavy as a kaiju footstep and as sonically searing as atomic breath.
The alder body features a laminated figured myrtle top, highlighted with a Godzilla Black finish, and the “Gojira” kanji logo is emblazoned in sleek black on the rosewood fingerboard around the 12th fret. The Custom Godzilla Humbucking pickups are paired with an internal active distortion circuit (activated via the second Tone knob) and Fender’s patent pending “G.L.O.” (Gain-Linked Optics) mechanism. This unique circuit actually makes the light-up Godzilla graphic on the pickguard get more and more intensely illuminated as the distortion is dialed up. The heavier the tone, the brighter Godzilla’s dorsal fins get, loading up for a crushing blast of atomic breadth, pulsing with each note.
The Custom Godzilla Humbucking pickups are wound to be as heavy as possible without losing articulation even under maximum distortion, and the internal distortion circuit ranges from churning grime to full-on, Tokyo-leveling armageddon fuzz. Other features include a satin neck profile finish and all-black plastics and hardware including the modern two-point Synchronized Tremolo. This Made in Japan Godzilla Stratocaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar beyond factory spec, dialed in with 9-42 strings, low action, and accurate intonation (string gauge and setup can be adjusted to player preference).
