Up for sale, a 2024 Collings I-35 LC Vintage in showroom-clean condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and loaded with Throbak ESG-102B Custom PAF humbuckers. Distinct from the I-35 LC, the "Vintage" version features unique laminate construction / center block formulas and a redesigned neck, all designed to provide a looser, more vintage-inspired tone and response.
With a 15" lower bout, the I-35 LC Vintage is a unique modern tribute to the heritage of the double cutaway semi-hollow electric guitar. The I-35 LC Vintage is designed by Collings to respond acoustically in perfect harmony with their electronics, providing greater tonal tailoring of the guitar's resonant properties. The pair of Throbak ESG-102B Custom humbuckers are among the most celebrated boutique PAFs wound today, designed to replicate late era PAFs of the early 60's. These pickups meter at an average 7.5k ohm resistance, wound with short Alnico II magnets in both the bridge and neck positions. Wound on Throbak's vintage Leesona 102B for the ultimate in vintage winding accuracy, these PAF clones have the same snarl and bite in the bridge and acoustic depth in the neck of the original PAF pickups installed in vintage ES-335 and SG guitars of this era. Strummed unplugged, the guitar has a bright, snappy sound that rings out with great sustain and nuance, and these qualities are faithfully reproduced by the Throbak PAFs. The I-35 LC Vintage is featherweight at 6lbs 12oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with slinky action, accurate intonation, and 10-46 strings.

Collings relies on Kluson for its high quality nickel hardware, and the electronics are rounded out by tightly spec'd CTS pots, Luxe Bumblebee caps, and 50s-style wiring. The gloss Blonde lacquer finish is meticulously hand-sanded between coats, resulting in a finish that's between .005 and .007 thousandths of an inch in final thickness, which maximizes the acoustic response of the instrument while providing excellent protection. Sparingly played since new, there's barely a scratch on the finish.
The Ameritage hardshell case is included.
