Featuring a AA solid Sitka spruce top with hand-scalloped X bracing, solid mahogany back and sides, and a one-piece mahogany neck with a dovetail joint and hot hide glue neck set, this J-45 is anything but modern, carefully utilizing traditional materials and building techniques for a J-45 tonal profile that offers a warm and full sound with healthy projection. Not overly bright, this J-45 is a big-sounding strummer with smooth low end growl when digging in hard. The top end is clear, and individual notes have good body and a sparkling, ringing quality.
