Up for sale, a 2023 Fender Traditional II ‘60s Mustang in near-mint condition, complete with hangtags. Only intended for sale to the Japanese domestic audience and select international markets, this Mustang was sourced direct from Tokyo.
A reinvention of Fender Japan's Mustang platform, the new Traditional 60s model features USA-spec CTS pots, a substantial neck profile carve, modern 9 1/2" fretboard radius, and premium hardware including a pat. pending Dynamic Vibrato and "F" tuning machines.
Weighing just 7lbs 6oz, tonewoods include a basswood body, maple neck and rosewood fretboard. There's plenty of tonal range between the two pickups, with a sparkling growl at the bridge and meatier sounds when the neck pickup is singled out. The signal can also get quite spanky and cutting in the out-of-phase setting, engaged when both on/off/on pickup selector switches are at their innermost or outermost points. This Traditional II ‘60s Mustang benefits from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
