Up for sale, a 2023 Fender Traditional II ‘60s Mustang, near-mint and complete with hangtags. The current Traditional series Fender Japan models are designed for the domestic Japanese market and select international territories, rarely seen outside their country of origin.
A reinvention of Fender Japan's Mustang platform, the new Traditional 60s model features USA-made CTS pots, a substantial neck profile carve, modern 9 1/2" fretboard radius, and premium hardware including a pat. pending vibrato and "F" tuning machines. The guitar weighs 7lbs 7oz, and the crisp, clear voice of the instrument when strummed acoustically translates well through the pickup pair. The signal is spanky and cutting in the out-of-phase setting, engaged when both on/off/on pickup selector switches are at their innermost or outermost points. The quack of that particular setting is unique to the Mustang, and there's plenty of tonal range between the two pickups, with a biting growl at the bridge and meatier sounds when the neck pickup is singled out. This Traditional II ‘60s Mustang has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
