Up for sale, a 2023 Fender Traditional II 60s Jaguar in mint condition and in perfect working order. Ostensibly new and imported direct from Tokyo, this FSR (Factory Special Run) example was made in extremely small quantities for a single dealer in Japan, Kinko Music.

With a Sonic Blue gloss finish, matching peghead, bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, and parchment pickguard, this particular iteration of the Traditional II Jaguar platform channels a '65-spec feature set. Numerous upscale options set it apart from other Traditional Series offerings including a Mustang-style bridge with barrel saddles, an alder body, medium jumbo fretwire, and USA-made Pure Vintage '65 single coils. The current Traditional series Fender Japan models are designed exclusively for the domestic Japanese market, rarely seen outside their country of origin.

The Pure Vintage '65 pickups are the same ones used on Fender's American Vintage II (and previous American Original) line, with gray fiber bobbins, cloth-covered leads and alnico magnets. This Jag does everything a good Fender should, and these pickups dish out plenty of sparkling cut in the top end, with the slightly aggressive chime and sinewy snarl that sets this model apart. The neck pickup has a balanced, sweet sound with great clarity for strummed passages and fat lead lines. Engage the Rhythm Circuit for even darker, meatier tones or click on the "strangle" switch in the Lead Circuit for even thinner tic-tac sounds. Weighing 8lbs 2oz, the guitar has been setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar where we specialize in Fender Offset instruments, featuring the factory 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation (string gauge and setup can be dialed in to buyer's preference at no charge upon request).

The maple neck has a fuller profile carve than earlier Fender Japan Jaguars, with generous shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, offering a medium depth U shape at the nut and just a hair more heft in the higher registers, measuring .855" deep at the 1st fret and .890" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard features pearl dot inlay and flawless medium jumbo fretwire, with a modern-spec 9 1/2" fretboard radius. The scale length is 24", and the carved bone nut measures 1 9/16" in width. The Sonic Blue-finished headstock sports a vintage-correct logo and Kluson-style tuning machines.

All of the electronics function flawlessly, the chrome hardware shines like new, and the plastic parts are clean as can be, with the original clear protective factory plastic intact on the parchment pickguard. The vibrato unit works smoothly for quick warbles and surfy dives, working in concert with the bridge's Mustang-style barrel saddles. The gloss Sonic Blue finish on the body is like-new, and the gloss on the neck profile is similarly flawless.

This Traditional II '60s Jaguar FSR is complete with the original Fender-branded gigbag and hangtags.
