Up for sale, a 2023 Fender Traditional II 60s Jaguar in like-new condition and perfect working order, complete with the original hangtags and gigbag. This “Made in Japan” Jaguar was produced exclusively for sale within Japan and select international markets, uncommon outside its country of origin.

A reinvention of Fender Japan's Jaguar platform, the Traditional 60s model features newly designed vintage-style pickups, as well as USA-made CTS pots, Switchcraft switches, and USA Fender plastic parts. Tonally, this Jag does everything a good Fender should, and these single coils dish out plenty of twang and snap in the top end, with a slightly aggressive chime and sinewy snarl that sets this model apart. Engaging the pickups together yields a balanced, sweet sound with great clarity for strummed passages and sparkling lead lines. Via the Rhythm Circuit on the lower bout, darker, meatier tones are on tap (great for use with fuzz pedals), or click on the "strangle" switch in the Lead Circuit for even thinner tic-tac sounds. This guitar weighs 7lbs 14oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with slinky action, spot-on intonation and 9-42 strings (string gauge can be specified by buyer prior to shipment).

The maple neck has a medium depth U-shaped profile carve with generous shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .855” deep at the 1st fret and .905” at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard has a modern 9 1/2“ radius, and the slender fretwire is flawless, playing cleanly up the 24” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The bone nut measures 1 9/16” (40mm) in width. The headstock features Kluson-style Gotoh tuning machines that function reliably.

The electronics include individual on/off switches for each pickup on the Lead Circuit, in addition to the bass cut (or "strangle switch") on/off toggle and Master Volume and Tone knobs. The Rhythm Circuit has its own pair of Volume and Tone wheels in addition to the on/off toggle switch that engages this circuit, which adds a darker tone cap exclusively for use on the neck pickup. The vibrato unit is smooth and responsive, actuating easily for surfy warbles and dives. The chrome-plated hardware shines like new, and the plastics are equally clean, including the pair of knobs and the four-ply red tortoise pickguard.

Ostensibly brand new and imported directly from Tokyo, there’s barely a scratch on the gloss Sunburst finish. The smooth gloss on the neck profile is similarly immaculate, highlighting subtle birdseye figuring in the maple at the upper registers.

The Fender-branded gigbag is included, along with the hangtags.
