Up for sale, a 2023 Collings 470 JL Julian Lage Signature model in near-mint condition, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtag. The Collings 470 JL is the result of years of meticulous engineering, testing, tweaking, playing and listening, resulting in one of Collings’ most compelling models to date.
The 470 JL features a fully hollow body design with trestle block bracing, carved from solid Honduran mahogany and capped with an arched laminate maple top. A Honduran mahogany neck with a custom carve capped with a bound ebony fingerboard rounds out the tonewoods, and this lightweight and lively instrument features a custom Ron Ellis "Ellisonics" pickup pair commissioned by Collings for the JL model. Delivering a range of extremely nuanced tones, these DynaSonic-style single coils offer treble sparkle, midrange punch, and defined low end, with a vital sound in every pickup position. The guitar is featherweight at 6lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
