Up for sale, a 2022 Sequential Circuits/Oberheim OB-6 Desktop Module in showroom clean condition and in perfect working order. This versatile synth is the result of the first-ever collaboration between two of the most influential designers in poly synth history, Sequential’s Dave Smith and Oberheim Electronics’ Tom Oberheim, taking the classic Oberheim sound and adding modern functionality including studio-grade effects, a polyphonic step sequencer, an arpeggiator, X-mod, and more. A true analog powerhouse in a compact, studio-friendly size, it’s hard to compete with the OB-6 when it comes to sheer pedigree and performance.

Featuring an all-analog signal path, the OB-6’s sound engine is inspired by Oberheim’s original SEM, with two discrete VCOs (plus sub-oscillator) per voice with continuously variable waveshapes (sawtooth and variable-width pulse, with a triangle wave on oscillator 2), and the classic Oberheim-style 2-pole, state-variable, resonant filter yields low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and notch functionality. The Dual Effects section offers reverb, delays (standard and BBD), chorus, flangers, and recreations of Oberheim’s original phase shifter and ring modulator for classic ‘80s-style sounds. The effects are digital, with 24-bit, 48 kHz resolution, but true bypass maintains the analog signal path. The X-Mod enables easy tonal sculpting, with filter envelope and oscillator 2 as modulation sources, both with bi-polar control, and the polyphonic step sequencer allows up to 64 steps and up to 6 notes per step. Other features include the arpeggiator, which can be synced to external MIDI clock, chord memory, and 1000 programs (500 factory, 500 rewritable user programs), easily accessed via the knob-per-function front panel.

This OB-6 Desktop Module has just a couple tiny marks on the enclosure, and the wood endcaps are very clean. The transparent lid is included, along with the operation manual.
