Up for sale, a 2022 Seeker Electric Effects Oculus treble booster pedal in near-mint condition and in perfect working order. Handmade in Ventura County, CA using traditional construction methods and carefully selected New Old Stock components, Seeker has developed a formidable reputation in the boutique pedal community. Oculus is founder Mike Timpson’s take on the classic Dallas Rangemaster Treble Booster from the 1960s.
From Seeker:
“Controls for Texture (gain) and Tone along with the standard Biasing Volume control give you a wide palette to shape your tone. Inside the custom circuit board lies an array of vintage NOS components. At the heart of Oculus is a single Philips MilSpec CV108 silicon transistor that provides tons of boost and clarity with low noise.
Oculus can get quite a bit more gritty and driven than the pedal that inspired it, but the classic Rangemaster tones are in there, along with fuzzy tones that clean up with your guitar volume. The Texture knob delivers a timeless gated fuzz tone, great on its own or stacked with another fuzz or drive pedal. The Texture and Tone controls are interactive: the more low end pushing the circuit, the more fuzz you get.”
This Oculus is signed, numbered and dated on the baseplate by Seeker Effects founder Mike Timpson. There are just a few faint scratches on the bottom of the enclosure.
