Up for sale, a 2022 Martin OM-28 Modern Deluxe in like-new condition, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. An updated take on the OM-28 platform, this Modern Deluxe delivers classic Martin tones and aesthetics while offering a few modern, player-friendly tweaks on the formula including a composite carbon fiber bridge plate, natural protein glue construction, Liquidmetal bridge pins, and an asymmetrical, satin-finished neck profile carve.
Tonewoods include an Adirondack spruce top with Martin's Vintage Tone System (VTS) treatment and forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing, East Indian rosewood back and sides, and a mahogany neck capped with an ebony fingerboard. Benefitting from Martin's longer 25.4" scale, this orchestra body acoustic has an extremely bold tone with tons of definition and clarity. There’s a notably punchy, round character to the plain strings, and notes simply leap off the fretboard with a dynamic openness attributable both to the bracing and VTS treatment. Naturally excellent for fingerpicking, this OM-28 is also a rewarding strummer with a focused, snappy low end, brassy bloom and a hint of natural compression when digging in hard with a flatpick. This OM-28 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.
