This “Made in Japan” Precision Bass was designed for sale only within Japan and to select international territories, uncommon outside of its country of origin. Faithfully replicating the earliest features of the Precision Bass, this bass boasts string-through slab body construction, a centrally located single coil pickup, and a gloss Butterscotch Blonde finish accented by a single-ply black pickguard.

The single coil pickup features staggered pole pieces and black bobbins, delivering plenty of resonance and thump with a more focused midrange and accentuated treble than later split-coil P Bass pickups. This Traditional Original ‘50s P Bass weighs 7lbs 15oz, benefitting from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.
