Up for sale, a 2022 Fender Traditional 60s Mustang in like-new condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hangtags and gigbag. The current Traditional series Fender Japan models are designed for the domestic Japanese market, rarely seen outside their country of origin. A reinvention of Fender Japan's Mustang platform, the new Traditional 60s model features USA-made CTS pots, a substantial neck profile carve, modern 9 1/2" fretboard radius, and premium hardware including a pat. pending vibrato and "F" tuning machines. The guitar weighs 7lbs 8oz, and the crisp, clear voice of the instrument when strummed acoustically translates well through the pickup pair. Of course one of the most fun sounds on the Mustang is the out-of-phase setting, engaged when both on/off/on pickup selector switches are at their innermost or outermost points. The quack and spank of that particular setting is unique to the Mustang, and there's plenty of tonal range between the two pickups, with meatier sounds when the neck pickup is singled out. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Mustang is strung with the factory 9-42 strings, dialed in for optimal intonation and slinky action (string gauge can be set to buyer's preference at no additional charge). The maple neck has a medium depth U-shaped profile carve with full shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges for added comfort, measuring .845" deep at the 1st fret and .905" at the 12th. The dark rosewood fretboard features pearl dot inlay and flawless slender fretwire on the 24" scale. The neck is straight, and the truss rod is responsive and optimally adjusted. The fretboard radius measures 9 1/2", and the nut has Fender's vintage-spec 1 9/16" width. The headstock is fitted with Fender "F" tuning machines with hexagonal white buttons. All of the electronics function as intended, with Master Volume and Tone controls governing the two pickups. The plastics and chrome plated hardware are flawless, with the protective factory film and advert still intact on the red tortoise pickguard. The Pat. Pending vibrato tailpiece actuates easily for surfy warbles and surprisingly deep dives. Imported directly from Tokyo, this guitar is ostensibly new without a scratch on it.
