Up for sale, a 2022 Fender Traditional 60s Jazzmaster in showroom clean condition and in perfect working order. This FSR (Factory Special Run) model features an Ocean Turquoise Metallic gloss finish and matching peghead. A limited edition instrument not otherwise available to the USA market, this Jazzmaster was sourced direct from Tokyo and is complete with the original Fender-branded gigbag and hangtags.
A reinvention of Fender Japan's Jazzmaster platform, the new Traditional 60s model features Fender USA V-Mod black bobbin pickups, as well as USA-made CTS pots, Switchcraft switches, and USA Fender plastic parts. A textbook example of everything we love about the Jazzmaster, the instrument has plenty of twang and sparkle on tap, with a range of powerful and defined tones from the two single coil pickups, and warm, wooly sounds when switched to the Rhythm Circuit on the guitar's lower body horn. Weighing 7lbs 14oz, the guitar has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar where we specialize in Fender Offset instruments, featuring low action, spot-on intonation and factory 9-42 strings (string gauge can be set to buyer's preference prior to shipment).
The maple neck has a fuller profile carve than earlier Fender Japan Jazzmasters, with generous shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, offering a chunky C shape at the nut and just a hair more heft in the higher registers, measuring .870" deep at the 1st fret and .925" at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard has flawless slender fretwire and a modern-spec 9 1/2" fretboard radius. The scale length is a full 25 1/2", and the carved bone nut measures 42mm (1.650") in width. The headstock sports a Pre-CBS style "Spaghetti" Jazzmaster logo, with Kluson-style tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold pitch well.
All of the electronics function flawlessly, the chrome hardware shines like new, and the plastic parts are clean as can be, with the original clear factory plastic and Traditional 60s sticker intact on the pickguard. The vibrato unit works smoothly and engages easily for quick warbles and surfy dives, working in concert with the vintage-style bridge. The gloss Ocean Turquoise Metallic finish veers more towards blue than some OTM iterations, yet still has a greenish tint. The finish is in mint condition, with no wear on the instrument to report.
