Up for sale, a 2022 Fender Traditional 60s Jazzmaster in showroom clean condition and in perfect working order. This FSR (Factory Special Run) Fender Japan model was made in small quantities exclusively for a single dealer in Japan (Ishibashi). An instrument not otherwise available to the USA market, this Jazzmaster was sourced direct from Tokyo and is complete with the original Fender-branded gigbag and hangtags.
Offering an extensive suite of upgrades beyond Fender's Japan-exclusive Traditional 60s platform, this Jazzmaster evokes a 1959 feature set with an anodized gold aluminum pickguard and a slab rosewood fretboard. Other notable features of this FSR model include Fender American Vintage '65 pickups and a bridge with Mustang-style barrel saddles.
The American Vintage '65 gray bobbin pickups are coupled to factory installed USA-made CTS pots and Switchcraft switches, and this guitar dishes out plenty of twang and sparkle, with a range of powerful and defined tones from the two single coil pickups. Warmer, wooly sounds are on tap when switched to the Rhythm Circuit on the guitar's lower body horn. Weighing 7lbs 9oz, the guitar has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar where we specialize in Fender Offset instruments, featuring low action, spot-on intonation and factory 9-42 strings (string gauge can be set to buyer's preference prior to shipment).
The maple neck has a fuller profile carve than earlier Fender Japan Jazzmasters, with generous shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, offering a modestly chunky C shape at the nut and just a hair more heft in the higher registers, measuring .860" deep at the 1st fret and .905" at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard has flawless tall/slender fretwire and a modern-spec 9 1/2" fretboard radius. The scale length is a full 25 1/2", and the carved bone nut measures 1 5/8" in width. The headstock sports a Pre-CBS style "Spaghetti" Jazzmaster logo, with Kluson-style tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold pitch well.
All of the electronics function flawlessly, the chrome-plated hardware shines like new, and the plastic parts are clean as can be. The vibrato unit works smoothly and engages easily for quick warbles and surfy dives, working in concert with the Mustang-style bridge. The gloss Sunburst finish is flawless, highlighting the grain of the alder body, and the gloss on the neck profile is equally pristine.
This Traditional '60s Jazzmaster is complete with the original hangtags and Fender-branded gigbag.
***We are dealers for the Mastery M2 bridge, Mastery Offset Vibrato and Lollar pickups, any or all of which can be installed prior to shipment for an additional charge***
