Up for sale, a 2022 Fender Michiya Haruhata Stratocaster in showroom-clean condition, complete with hangtags. This unique “Made in Japan” Stratocaster is the signature instrument of Michiya Haruhata, guitarist of long-running Japanese pop-rock band Tube. Directly modeled after Haruhata’s “III” Strat, it boasts a bevy of unique features including a reverse headstock, Gotoh double-locking tremolo, HSH pickup complement with DiMarzio humbuckers, a deeply figured quilted maple top highlighted by a Caribbean Blue Transparent gloss finish, and a satin-finished soft V neck profile modeled after a 3D scan of the III Strat’s neck.
Tonewoods include an ash body (+ quilted maple top), maple neck, and slab 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. Pickups include a DiMarzio Air Norton humbucker at the neck, a Fender Custom Shop Texas Special single coil in the middle, and a DiMarzio Fred humbucker at the bridge. The Fred humbucker was designed as a midrange-boosted PAF, offering dense harmonics and highly responsive to user inputs. The Air Norton humbucker is a warm, open-sounding pickup with a unique magnetic structure to reduce string pull and increase sustain while maintaining dynamic feel and responsiveness. The Texas Special has an overwound bite, pairing well with the humbuckers at positions 2 and 4 on the five-way pickup selector switch. Additionally, the push/push control at the Master Tone knob engages the neck humbucker at any position, enabling bridge/neck pairings. This Michiya Haruhata Stratocaster weighs 8lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.
