Up for sale, a 2022 Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay Special in near mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Tonewoods include an ash body and roasted maple neck, ensuring a natural authority, midrange complexity and treble grind.The bass retains the muscle and power of the traditional StingRay humbucker, and the pickup has been redesigned for this particular iteration to maintain the power and presence of its big brother, boasting neodymium magnets. The passive humbucker is coupled to a 18-volt active preamp and 3-band EQ for maximum sonic flexibility. Other features include Music Man's modern classic bridge, stainless steel fretwire, and new lightweight Music Man tuning machines with a finer gear ratio. We've had this StingRay dialed in to perfection here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, low action, and spot on intonation.The roasted maple neck has an easy-playing C-shaped profile carve with Music Man's gunstock oil and hand-rubbed special wax blend on the profile for a silky smooth feel. The profile has modest shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .795" deep at the 1st fret and .910" at the 12th. The stainless steel medium jumbo fretwire is flawless, playing easily up the 34" scale length. The intonated nut measures 1 11/16" in width (noted as 1 5/8" on most factory spec sheets, but demonstrably wider on this example, measured with digital calipers), and the headstock has clover button tuning machines, lightweight to eliminate neck dive with tapered posts.The chrome hardware is positively gleaming, with a top-loader steel bridge plate and vintage nickel plated steel saddles. There's just a bit of faint pick scuffing on the black multi-ply pickguard, and the gloss Black finish is practically perfect with just a couple exceedingly faint finish scratches in the clear coat of the gloss on the body as a whole. The satin gun oil finish on the neck profile is flawless.The original hardshell case and case candy is included.
