Up for sale, a 2022 Collings SoCo 16 LC Aged in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, ephemera, and case candy. Collings guitars are handcrafted in Austin, TX, with premium components and hand-selected tonewoods. This SoCo 16 LC features semi-hollow construction, with a solid maple center block, deeply figured curly maple top, back, and rims, a Honduran mahogany neck capped with a bound rosewood fretboard, a gently aged nitro lacquer Tobacco Sunburst finish, and a pair of ThroBak DT-102 MXV PAF-style humbuckers.
The 16” lower bout width and semi-hollow construction results in a particularly resonant, dynamic acoustic response with a balance of warmth and articulation, providing an ideal platform for the ThroBak DT-102 MXV humbuckers. ThroBak spares no expense with the accuracy of their reproduction pickups, going so far as to wind these pickups on the same vintage model of Leesona 102 coil winder that was utilized for the original PAFs. Built around Alnico II magnets in the neck position and Alnico V magnets for the bridge humbucker, the DT-102's achieve a particularly broad sonic spectrum. These Throbaks capture the best qualities of their iconic inspiration, with warm, spongey lows, singing treble growl, and a tailored midrange for optimal clarity. This Collings weighs 7lbs 14oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

Beyond the factory aging, there’s barely a scratch on the body, and the gloss finish on the neck profile is immaculate.
The original Ameritage hardshell is included, along with the factory documentation, the ThroBak CoA (dated 4/15/22), and case candy.
