Up for sale, a 2021 Rickenbacker Limited Edition 90th Anniversary 4005XC in like-new condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and all hangtags. This rare Rickenbacker bass was crafted in limited quantities to celebrate Ric’s 90th Anniversary, featuring a semi-hollow OS “Old-Style” semi-hollow body with a cat’s eye F hole, checkerboard binding, and a short 30 1/2” scale length.
This 4005XC’s natural acoustic properties combine the treble detail and note attack of maple with the sonic breadth and sweet sustain of the semi-hollow, set neck construction. Strung with 45-105 tapewound strings, the neck pickup is broad and pillowy, with a vocal midrange quality, while the bridge pickup is more present and treble-centric. The overarching sound of the bass is quite distinct, unique among Ric basses, and the tapewood strings accentuate a certain dry thud and woody cut. Weighing 8lbs 14oz, this 4005XC has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with easy-playing action and accurate intonation.
