Up for sale, a 2021 Larrivee Classical Size 2 in near mint condition, complete with the hardshell case and paperwork. A modern iteration of Larrivee’s L-35 design, this built-to-order midsize classical features a solid European high alpine spruce top, solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, and an African Khaya (mahogany) neck with slab African ebony fretboard. The instrument offers healthy projection, excellent string-to-string balance, and an overarching lively, dynamic tonal character. The bass register is full and defined with a singing, bell-like midrange, and the trebles are crisp and detailed. The guitar is featherweight at 3lbs 13oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with D'addario normal tension strings.The mahogany neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with rounded shoulders and subtly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .820” deep at the 1st fret and .935” at the 9th. The thick slab African ebony fretboard features pristine stock slender fretwire, and the guitar plays well up the neck with comfortable action, measuring 7/64" on the treble side and 8/64" on the bass side at the 12th fret. The scale length is 650mm, and the hand-carved bone nut measures a full 50mm in width. String spacing at the bridge is 60mm. The slotted headstock features a thick rosewood veneer with gold-plated tuning machines that turn smoothly and hold pitch well.The body features a rosewood bridge with tall bone saddle, and the solid European spruce top features multi-ply purfling and an ornate soundhole rosette. Inside the soundhole, the label is present with luthier signature, and the serial number and Larrivee logo are stamped on the heel block. Cosmetic wear on the high gloss finish is limited to a tiny mark on the upper bout and a faint scuff on the bass side lower bout edge. The neck profile sports a pristine smooth gloss finish.The Larrivee hardshell case and paperwork is included.
