Up for sale, a 2021 Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s left-handed model in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case, hangtags and case candy. This modern iteration of the Les Paul platform pays tribute to Gibson’s golden age, featuring a solid mahogany body with a carved AA figured flame maple top, a SlimTaper ‘60s-style mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard, ABR-1 bridge, Grover Rotomatic tuning machines, and a pair of Burstbucker 61 PAF pickups.
Weighing 9lbs 7oz, this Les Paul delivers the punch and singing sustain befitting its reputation. The Burstbucker 61 humbuckers feature Alnico V magnets (yet differ from a Burstbucker Pro in their tonal response) and deliver an array of traditional Gibson tonalities, with a dynamic and harmonically-rich bridge pickup, while a neck position humbucker is fat and sweet, retaining ideal clarity. This Les Paul has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
The mahogany neck has Gibson’s SlimTaper C-shaped profile carve with well-rounded shoulders and ideal heft, measuring .830” deep at the 1st fret and .935” at the 12th. On the bound rosewood fretboard, the medium fretwire is flawless, and the guitar plays cleanly in all registers with a straight neck and optimally adjusted truss rod. The GraphTech nut has Gibson's traditional 1 11/16" width. The headstock retains the "Standard" truss rod cover and features Grover Rotomatic tuning machines.
All of the electronics function as they should, and the pickups retain their PAF decals on the baseplates, along with the dated Burstbucker 61 stickers. The harness is hand-wired with Gibson-embossed Alpha 500k pots and premium Sprague Orange Drop tone caps. The nickel-plated hardware is positively gleaming, and plastics include the quartet of reflector cap knobs and the pickguard. Both the pickguard and rear control cavity covers retain their factory protective film, underscoring the limited use this guitar has seen since new.
The gloss nitro lacquer Ice Tea Burst finish highlights the dynamic, tight figuring in the bookmatched AA flame maple top, and there’s just a couple faint scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The smooth gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.
The original Gibson-branded brown tolex hardshell case is included, along with every single hangtag and piece of original case candy.
