Up for sale, a 2021 Fender Traditional II ‘70s Jazz Bass FSR in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This rare “Made in Japan” FSR (factory special run) Jazz Bass was produced in limited quantities exclusively for Japanese retailer Shimamura Gakki, featuring a heavily figured quilted maple top and Caribbean Blue gloss finish.

With a basswood body, the bass has a lively, balanced acoustic response with great note attack. The pair of Fender USA's Generation 4 Noiseless single coil pickups deliver quintessential Jazz Bass tones, hum-free and offering midrange growl, top end detail and fundamental power. This FSR Jazz Bass has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, comfortable action, and spot-on intonation.

The one-piece maple neck has a medium U-shaped profile carve with full shoulders and a gentle increase in overall heft further up the fretboard, measuring .805” deep at the 1st fret and .925” at the 12th. The bound maple fretboard has white pearloid block inlay, a modern 9 1/2“ radius, and pristine slender fretwire, playing cleanly up the 34” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 1/2“ in width, carved from bone for optimal clarity and sustain. The headstock has a block logo, bullet truss rod nut, and clover-button tuning machines. The back of the headstock retains the Fender 75th Anniversary decal, JD21-prefix serial, and “Made in Japan” text.

The pickups are governed by a standard Jazz Bass control configuration, and the USA-made Generation 4 Noiseless pickups are wired to USA-spec CTS pots. The chrome-plated hardware shines like new, and plastics include the transparent plexi pickguard.

The gloss Caribbean Blue transparent finish highlights the deep, extremely lively figuring in the quilted maple top, Cosmetic wear is limited to one moderately-sized area of impact on the treble-side lower bout perimeter, with just a scant few additional tiny nicks on the body as a whole. The smooth gloss on the neck profile is pristine.

The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
