Up for sale, a 2021 Fender Traditional 70s Jazz Bass in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original Fender-branded gigbag. A Fender Japan exclusive model uncommon outside its country of origin, the Traditional 70s instruments are the latest "Made in Japan" iterations, with the exquisite fit and finish work for which Fender Japan is known.

This 1970s reissue Jazz Bass features a two-piece ash body with particularly dramatic grain, paired with a one-piece bound maple neck with pearloid block inlay. These tonewoods yield plenty of natural authority and punch with a rich midrange character, solid sustain, and strong note attack. The bridge pickup has the power, burp, and presence that helps a Jazz Bass cut through in ensemble situations, and it's easy to dial in the right amount of midrange growl and fundamental thump when balancing the sound between the two single coils. The tone can get quite smooth and wide too, simply by rolling off the bridge pickup Volume and Master Tone control, for a thick sound that doesn't lack definition. Weighing 9lbs 8oz, this Jazz Bass has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with roundwound 45-105 strings, comfortable action, and accurate intonation.

The maple neck has a medium depth U-shaped profile carve with full shoulders, measuring .840" deep at the 1st fret and .970" at the 12th. The maple fretboard has white binding and pearloid block inlay, consistent with 70s spec, sporting a 9 1/2" fretboard radius and practically perfect slender fretwire. The bass plays cleanly in all registers up the 34" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The bone nut measures 1 1/2", and the headstock features clover button tuners that turn smoothly and hold pitch well.

The electronics function flawlessly, the chrome plating on the hardware shines like new, and the three-ply black pickguard compliments the Natural gloss finish. There's barely a scratch on the body save for a single finish chip on the body edge adjacent to the input jack. The smooth gloss on the neck profile is flawless.

The original padded Fender-branded gigbag is included.
