Up for sale, a 2021 Fender Traditional ‘60s Telecaster in near-mint condition and in perfect working order with an FSR (Factory Special Run) Lake Placid Blue custom color finish. The Traditional series is built at the Dyna Gakki factory in Japan to exacting standards, only offered within Japan and to select international markets, and as such these guitars are rarely seen outside their country of origin.

Tonewoods include a basswood body, maple neck and thick slab rosewood fretboard, yielding a clear, balanced acoustic quality with notable fundamental warmth, qualities that translate well through the alnico magnet single coil pickup pair. The bridge position offers plenty of snap and sparkle, while the neck position has a percussive, bell-like chime. This Tele weighs just 6lbs 14oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation.

The maple neck has a medium U-shaped profile carve with full shoulders in all registers, measuring .850” deep at the 1st fret and .920” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard has a 9 1/2” radius with flawless slender fretwire. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The stock bone nut measures 1.615” (41 mm) in width. On the headstock, the Kluson-style tuners turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch.

All of the electronics function as intended, with the pickups wired to a three-way selector switch and USA-made CTS pots capped with flat-topped knurled knobs. Other vintage-accurate touches include the top hat switch tip, spiral bridge saddles, and a pale mint green pickguard. All of the chrome-plated hardware shines like new, including the “Pat. Pend” bridge baseplate. This is an exceedingly well-kept example, with just a couple small, very shallow marks on the back on the gloss Lake Placid Blue finish. The gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
