Up for sale, a 2021 Fender Traditional '60s Stratocaster in like-new condition and in perfect working order. With a gloss Olympic White FSR (Factory Special Run) finish, this discontinued Strat was made exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and is rarely seen outside its country of origin. The trio of alnico magnet single coils have plenty of chime and sparkle, governed by a five-way pickup selector switch. The bridge pickup has great cut, while the in-between settings on the switch have quintessential Strat quack, and the neck pickup is bell-like and round. This Strat weighs just 7lbs 1oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
The neck has a substantial U-shaped profile carve with ample shoulder and inviting, easy-playing heft, measuring .880” deep at the 1st fret and .940” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard has a modern 9 1/2” radius and retains the flawless slender vintage-style fretwire. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The stock nut measures 1 5/8” in width. On the headstock, the Kluson-style tuning machines have the correct vintage look, turn smoothly, and hold pitch well.
All of the electronics work as they should, with a trio of staggered pole piece single coil pickups wired to USA-made CTS pots. The vibrato has a large block for great sustain, and the unit is very responsive for smooth surfy warbles and deeper dives, jumping back to the original pitch with ease. Plastics include ivory pickup covers and knobs with a mint green pickguard that retains its clear protective factory film. The custom color Olympic White gloss finish tops off the '60s look with a subtle blue tint, and the chrome hardware and plastic parts are pristine. Cosmetically, there's barely a scratch on the guitar.
The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
