Up for sale, a 2021 Fender Hybrid II Precision Bass in near-mint condition and in perfect working order. A FSR (Factory Special Run) model finished in custom color Forest Blue, the Hybrid II model is an upscale bass which was produced exclusively for Japan and select international markets, uncommon outside its country of origin.
Forward thinking in its feature set and blending traditional and modern appointments, the Hybrid II model boasts a satin neck profile finish, modern 9 1/2" fretboard radius, narrow tall fretwire, a bone nut, and USA-made CTS pots. The instrument features the classic tonewood pairing of an alder body, maple neck and slab rosewood fingerboard, and acoustically, the bass has a smooth, balanced sound, weighing 8lbs 11oz. The Hybrid II Custom Voiced split coil pickup has raised A poles like a circa 1957-58 P Bass, delivering both broad thump and great treble articulation. This Hybrid II Precision Bass has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and spot-on intonation.
The maple neck sports Fender’s Modern C-shaped profile, a slender carve with round shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .800” deep at the 1st fret and 1.015” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard has a 9 1/2“ radius, and the narrow tall fretwire is flawless. This bass plays cleanly up the 34” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the bone nut measures 1.650” (42mm) in width. On the headstock, the clover-button tuning machines turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch, with clean nickel plating.
All of the electronics function as intended, and the pickup is governed by Master Volume and Tone controls. The wiring harness features USA-made CTS pots and a Sprague Orange Drop tone cap. The chrome-plated hardware shines like new, including the flat-topped knurled knobs and bridge with steel barrel saddles. Plastics include a four-ply dark red tortoise pickguard.
Cosmetic wear on the Forest Blue finish is limited to just a scant few faint marks and finish scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile is immaculate.
The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.
