The American Professional II Jazz Bass is the latest incarnation of Fender's iconic upscale bass model, designed from the ground up to offer an ideal gigging and recording instrument with an alder body, maple neck, and slab rosewood fretboard. Features include a Slim C neck profile and pair of V-Mod II single coil pickups, engineered to provide a blend of power and old-school low end.Designed by pickup guru Tim Shaw, the V-Mod single coils produce the warm and natural tones of vintage pickups, while delivering the clarity and dynamic range of some of today's best designs. The alder body also provides a clear, balanced natural tonal platform for the pickups. Weighing 9lbs 1oz and professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this Jazz Bass is strung with fresh 45-105 roundwound strings, dialed in with low action and accurate intonation.The neck has a slender and inviting Sim C shape, measuring .785" deep at the 1st fret and .885" at the 12th. It's a particularly comfortable profile with a smooth flawless satin finish. The thick slab rosewood fretboard has a modern 9 1/2" radius and the “narrow-tall” frets are virtually unplayed. The bass offers Fender's traditional 34" scale, and the bone nut measures 1 1/2" in width. The headstock is fitted with original tuners designed to provide a reliable modern gear ratio while being lightweight.All of the electronics function as they should, with nigh flawless chrome hardware including Fender's HiMass string through body bridge. The gloss Black finish shows just a couple tiny scuffs in the clear coat on the back of the instrument, and this bass is virtually unplayed since new.The original molded Fender hardshell case is included, along with the original hangtags and COA.
