2021 Fender Aerodyne II Jazz Bass Gunmetal Blue, Near Mint w/ Hangtags, Japan MIJ

Up for sale, a 2021 Fender Aerodyne II Jazz Bass in near mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hangtags and Fender-branded gigbag.  A "Made in Japan" model designed to be sold in the Japanese domestic market, the Aerodyne II is unique both visually and sonically, with a PJ pickup configuration, bound alder body, and Gunmetal Blue gloss finish with matching headstock. While most Fender basses that have the PJ pickup configuration use a Precision-style body, this Aerodyne has the sleek looks and comfortable 1 1/2" nut width of the Jazz Bass, providing both the ample thump and heft of a split coil Precision neck pickup and the midrange cut and articulation of a Jazz pickup at the bridge. This bass weighs 9lbs 2oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, comfortable action, and spot-on intonation.The maple neck has a medium depth C to D-shaped profile carve with nicely rounded shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .835” deep at the 1st fret and .925” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard has lightly rolled edges, with a 9 1/2" radius and flawless fretwire. This bass plays cleanly in all registers up the 34" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 1/2" in width. The matching Gunmetal Blue headstock features chrome-plated clover-button tuners which turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch.All of the electronics function as intended, with individual Volume knobs for each pickup and a Master Tone control. The chrome Strat-style knobs, control plate, and bridge shine like new, and the multi-ply black pickguard retains its clear protective factory film. There's barely a scratch on the gloss Gunmetal Blue finish, and cosmetic wear is limited to a couple small shallow marks on the bass-side lower bout on the back (not through the finish). The satin finish on the neck profile is flawless.The original Fender-branded gigbag is included, along with the hangtags.
