Up for sale, a 2020 Seeker Electric Effects Tonebender MKIII in near-mint condition. Handcrafted in Ventura County, California, this Tonebender is a faithful recreation of the legendary original ‘60s Tone Bender MKIII, which differs only slightly from the MKII in its inclusion of the Tone control. It’s an immediately recognizable fuzz tone, with ample aggressive bite and headroom, ranging from thin buzzsaw sizzle to churning, bass-rich destruction with a turn of the Attack knob.
This iteration by Seeker features a trio of NOS Mullard OC76 red dot germanium transistors, with NOS capacitors and carbon film resistors. Wired by hand, this Seeker Tonebender has the same controls as the original, with Volume, Fuzz (Attack), and Tone knobs.
There’s barely a mark on the gray hammerite enclosure. The inside of the baseplate is signed by Seeker’s Mike Timpson and dated 02-02-20.
