Up for sale, a 2020 Paul Reed Smith Wood Library Custom 24-08 "10 Top" in showroom-clean condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtag. Jaw-dropping in its presentation, the straight, dimensional tiger flame extends liberally across every inch of the top. The Wood Library is similar to PRS' Private Stock in that it's an elaborate menu-based program for the PRS Core line. This particular Custom 24-08 deviates from the model's traditional tonewoods with a heavily figured flame maple neck. Other tonewoods adhere to the model's traditional construction with a maple top, mahogany back, and rosewood fingerboard.

The Custom 24-08 keeps all of the same foundational specifications as the original Custom, yet adds a new level of versatility with its simple switching system. Featuring mini-toggle coil split switches, the Custom 24-08 has eight different pickup settings that provide an array of humbucking and single coil tones, including a dual single coil option unique for this model. A tremolo-equipped model with 58/15 MT (Multi-Tap) Treble and Bass humbuckers, this Custom 24-08 delivers articulate, singing tones with a very versatile five-way pickup selector. At 8lbs 2oz, this PRS offers plenty of sweet sustain and a lively natural acoustic tone that translates exceptionally well through the pickups. This Custom 24-08 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation.

The flame maple neck has PRS' Pattern Thin profile, a medium depth shape with round shoulders and a very inviting feel, measuring .830” deep at the 1st fret and .900” at the 12th. The slab rosewood fretboard is a dark cut of this particular tonewood with a 10" radius, featuring Birds In Flight inlay with inner and outer pieces of abalone and pearl, extremely intricate and well-executed in its presentation. The medium jumbo fretwire is flawless, and the guitar plays effortlessly in all registers up the straight neck with an ideally adjusted truss rod. The scale length is 25”, and the nut measures 1 11/16“ in width. On the back of the headstock, the inked serial number and "10" denoting the 10 Top figuring on the maple is present, along with Phase III PRS-branded locking tuning machines that turn smoothly.

The electronics function flawlessly, with the 58/15 MT humbuckers wired to dedicated two-way coil tap mini toggles for each pickup, with a three-way pickup selector blade switch and Master Volume and Tone knobs. Hardware includes the Gen III vibrato tailpiece, and the smoked black plating on the hardware shows light patina, as this particular hardware treatment has a propensity to age quickly. This guitar is a real stunner, and there's barely a scratch on the body. The gloss on the neck profile is equally pristine.

The original hardshell case and hangtag is included.
