Up for sale, a 2020 Mesa Boogie Mark Five: 35 1x12” combo amplifier in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original footswitch and Mesa-branded slip cover. This remarkable Mesa/Boogie represents the culmination of decades of Randall Smith’s innovations, following a 35-year tradition of EL84-based power and featuring a two-channel, six-mode preamp design.
The Mark Five: 35's first channel is a rhythm player's sonic playground with Clean, Fat, and Crunch modes serving up a broad tonal palette. Use the Multi-Watt power switch (an independent three-way mini-toggle dedicated to each channel) to flip between 10-watt mode for more breakup at lower volumes, 25-watt mode for more headroom and an open, dynamic sound, or 35-watts for the punchiest sound with the most touch-sensitive response. Choose from Mark IIC+, Mark IV, and Xtreme modes for three distinct flavors of sonic aggression. From smooth and liquid to roaring and edgy, the Mark Five: 35's lead channel alone provides more sonic flexibility than most two-channel amps. The EQ section can be individually assigned per channel too.
The Mesa Mark Five: 35 boasts the same spring Reverb and Solo controls as its 90-watt big brother. The Reverb is a tube-driven, long-tank spring for a touch of ambience or surfy washes of echo. There are also two independent Solo controls on the face of the Mark Five: 35. These footswitchable additions allow the player to preset the perfect amount of boost for pushing solos above the mix. And the Solo controls are completely removed from the circuit when not activated.
The head features a built-in Cabclone internal amp load and speaker simulator. It provides an incredibly realistic speaker-emulated direct output to plug right into the sound system or recording chain. Cabclone can be used in conjunction with the Celestion Black Shadow MC-90 12" speaker as well.
The Black Shadow 12” speaker, made specially for Mesa Boogie by Celestion, delivers tight, controlled lows; ample upper-bass and low-mids; authoritative midrange attack; and an assertive-yet-composed top end. This speaker excels at cutting through the mix without being piercing, offering 90 watts of headroom and a dynamic response.The original set of Mesa-branded tubes include four EL84/6BQ5 power tubes and a suite of six 12AX7 preamp tubes
Cosmetic touches include Black Taurus tolex, black grillcloth, and a “Boogie” badge, and there's barely a mark on the amp.
