Up for sale, a 2020 Hofner Violin Bass Cavern ‘61 H500/1-61-0 in mint condition, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtag. This German-made Hofner is a faithful recreation of the original “Beatle bass” purchased by Paul McCartney in Hamburg in 1961, unmistakable in both look and sound.

Tonewoods include a spruce top, flame maple back and sides, flame maple/beech neck, and rosewood fingerboard, yielding a distinctive acoustic thud and pluck with unparalleled natural resonance. Via the pair of Hofner Diamond pickups, this bass is smooth and sweet sounding, with a warm, woody, upright bass-like tone and a pillowy thump, and the bass' Beatle-esque sonic signature is cemented by a set of 40-95 flatwound strings. Featherweight at 4lbs 15oz, this Violin Bass Cavern ‘61 H500/1-61-0 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar, dialed in with easy-playing action and accurate intonation.
