2020 Gibson 50's J-45 Original Vintage Reissue Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Near Mint w/ LR Baggs, Case

+ shipping

Up for sale, a 2020 Gibson 1950's J-45 Original dreadnought acoustic guitar in near mint condition, complete with the original hardshell case. This J-45 has a traditional mid-50s look and feel with a large pickguard, warm gloss nitro lacquer finish, and a particularly hearty "baseball bat" C neck profile carve, as well as boasting a factory installed L.R. Baggs Element VTC pickup assembly.

Featuring a traditional slope shoulder dreadnought shape, hand-scalloped X bracing, solid Sitka spruce top, and solid mahogany back and sides, the tone is lively and sparkling with articulate trebles, ample warmth and muscle and a rich, balanced tonal profile. The guitar has a very balanced response across the strings as you travel up the fretboard, and notes retain lots of detail when fingerpicked. The instrument weighs 4lbs 8oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 12-53 strings and low action.

The one-piece mahogany neck has a substantial profile carve, inferring a soft V in the 1st position and quickly filling out to a more conventional “baseball bat” C shape as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .900" deep at the 1st fret and .980" at the 9th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard features the original slender frets which have their full factory height and well-rounded crowns, exhibiting just a touch of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3. The guitar conforms to traditional Gibson spec with a 24 3/4" scale length, and the bone nut measures a full 1 3/4" in width. The headstock retains the original single line Kluson Deluxe tuning machines which turn smoothly with white buttons.

The body features a rosewood bridge with tall bone saddle, as well as a tortoise pickguard and L.R. Baggs Element VTC pickup assembly. This active pickup features a 9V battery mounted to the heel block, 1/4" endpin jack, and mini Volume and Tone wheels mounted to the inside edge of the soundhole. An undersaddle transducer, the Element has a lively and open sound with a delicate high end and clear, rich bass. Exceedingly clean, the nitro lacquer gloss Sunburst exhibits just a couple microscopic marks and exceedingly faint finish scratches, while the neck profile is flawless with a strap button added to the heel.

The original brown tolex hardshell case is included.
