Up for sale, a 2020 Fender Traditional '60s Stratocaster in like-new condition and in perfect working order. With a gloss Fiesta Red FSR (Factory Special Run) finish, this discontinued Strat was made exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and is rarely seen outside its country of origin. The trio of alnico magnet single coils have plenty of chime and sparkle, governed by a five-way pickup selector switch. The bridge pickup has great cut, while the in-between settings on the switch have quintessential Strat quack, and the neck pickup is bell-like and round. Weighing 7lbs 3oz, we've dialed in this Stratocaster here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh 10-46 strings, low action and accurate intonation.

The maple neck is an unusually figured cut of wood, with tight flame maple figuring extending up the bass side of the profile. The neck has a round, chunky C-shaped profile carve which has generous shoulder and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .870” deep at the 1st fret and .915” at the 12th. The thick, dark rosewood slab fretboard has a modern 9 1/2" radius with perfect slender vintage-style fretwire that retains its full factory height. The guitar plays effortlessly up the 25 1/2" scale, and the nut measures 1 5/8" in width. On the headstock, the Kluson-style tuning machines have the correct vintage look, turn smoothly, and hold pitch well.

All of the electronics work as they should, with a trio of staggered pole piece single coil pickups wired to USA-made CTS pots. The vibrato has a large block for great sustain, and the unit is very responsive for smooth surfy warbles and deeper dives, jumping back to the original pitch with ease. Plastics include ivory pickup covers and knobs with a pale mint green pickguard that retains its clear protective factory film and Traditional Series advert. The custom color Fiesta Red gloss finish tops off the '60s look, and the chrome hardware and plastic parts are pristine. Cosmetically, there's barely a scratch on the guitar.

A padded gigbag is included.
