Up for sale, a 2019 Fender Swinger limited run offset electric guitar in near mint condition and perfect working order with a custom color Lake Placid Blue gloss finish. Complete with the original Fender-branded gigbag and hangtags, this model was made exclusively for the domestic Japanese market, has already been discontinued, and is rarely seen outside its country of origin.

A reintroduction of one of Fender's most obscure models for its 50th anniversary, the Swinger (also marketed as the Arrow and Musiclander) was the brainchild of Fender stringed instruments product manager Virgilio "Babe" Simoni who in 1969 was tasked by parent company CBS with finding a use for overstock Fender Bass V bodies. Radically reshaped from the original Bass V contours, the Swinger was fitted with a Musicmaster neck and boasted a unique Fender headstock carve that got straight to the point.

The electronics are simple and straightforward, with one neck position single coil that offers plenty of chime and cut. This Swinger is featherweight at 5lbs 3oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, low action, and accurate intonation (string gauge can be set to buyer's preference at no additional charge).

The one-piece maple neck has a slender C-shaped profile carve with just enough roundness in the shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .820" deep at the 1st fret and .900" at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard features pearl dot inlay and flawless slender fretwire on the 24" scale. The neck is straight, and the truss rod is responsive and optimally adjusted. The fretboard radius measures 7 1/4", and the nut has Fender's traditional 1 5/8" width. The headstock features Gotoh, Kluson-style tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold pitch as they should.

The electronics function as intended, and the chrome-plated hardware and plastic parts are perfect (including the exceedingly accurate to vintage spec bridge with spiral saddles). Essentially unplayed since new, the guitar has just a couple microscopic nicks on the body as a whole ostensibly from handling in the past two years.

The original Fender-branded gigbag is included, along with the original hangtags.
