2020 Fender Japan Boxer Series Precision PJ Bass Sherwood Green, Showroom Clean

Up for sale, a 2020 Fender Japan Boxer Series PJ Bass in showroom clean condition and in perfect working order. Featuring a Sherwood Green Metallic gloss finish, this bass is a modern spin on the original Boxer series model offered for a short time by Fender Japan in the mid-80s. With a basswood body, maple neck, and thick slab rosewood fretboard, the natural acoustic tone is warm and balanced, channeled through the high output P and J pickups. The split coil P pickup has traditional thump and breadth, while the J pickup is clear and articulate with great midrange burp and presence. The bass weighs 8lbs 11oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.The neck dimensions are akin to a Jazz Bass, and while Fender categorizes the neck carve as a "medium C," it's truly more of a U shape with generous shoulder in every register and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .840" deep at the 1st fret and .965" at the 12th. The nut width is a slender, easily navigable 1 1/2" (just like a Jazz Bass), and the bass plays easily up the 34" scale with flawless jumbo fretwire. The thick slab rosewood fretboard also has a modern 12" radius. The headstock features a gloss black face and black clover button tuners that turn smoothly and hold pitch reliably.All of the electronics function as intended, with the PJ pickup pair governed by a three-way pickup selector, dedicated Volume knobs for each pickup and a TBX "treble bass expander" Tone control.The black hardware is clean as can be, and there's barely a scratch on the gloss Sherwood Green body finish. The neck has a flawless satin finish on the profile.The original padded Fender gigbag is included.
