Up for sale, a 2020 Fender Hybrid 60s Jaguar in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, finished in custom color Sherwood Green and complete with the original gigbag. This since-discontinued iteration of the Hybrid 60s model is a rare Made in Japan instrument, virtually unseen outside of its country of origin.A reinvention of Fender Japan's Jaguar platform, the Hybrid 60s model features a pair of Fender's gray bobbin V-Mod pickups, as well as USA-made CTS pots, Switchcraft switches, USA Fender plastic parts, and locking Kluson-style tuning machines. The Hybrid '60s model also boasts a modern 9 1/2" fretboard radius, larger fretwire, a smooth satin neck profile finish, and a new, rounder neck profile carve.Tonally, this Jag does everything a good Fender should, with plenty of twang and snap in the top end, and the slightly aggressive chime and sinewy snarl that sets this model apart. The pickups have a balanced, sweet sound with great clarity for strummed passages and sparkling lead lines. Engage the Rhythm Circuit for even darker, meatier tones (great for use with fuzz pedals) or click on the "strangle" switch in the Lead Circuit for even thinner tic-tac sounds. Top it off with more chrome than a Cadillac and you have the model that was Fender's flagship guitar when it was introduced in '62, with every bell and whistle Leo Fender and his team could think to include. This alder-bodied guitar weighs 8lbs 11oz, with a warm, clear acoustic tone that translates well through the pickups. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar where we specialize in Fender Offset instruments, this Jag plays very well with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation. The one-piece maple neck has a medium C-shaped profile carve with particularly round shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .820" deep at the 1st fret and .925" at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard has a 9 1/2" radius, and the medium jumbo fretwire is flawless, playing cleanly up the 24" scale with a straight neck and responsive, optimally adjusted truss rod. The bone nut measures 1.650" (42mm) in width. The headstock features the original Kluson-style locking tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold pitch exceptionally well even with liberal vibrato use.All of the electronics function as intended, with individual on/off switches for each pickup on the Lead Circuit, in addition to the bass cut (or "strangle switch") on/off toggle and Master Volume and Tone knobs. The Rhythm Circuit has its own pair of Volume and Tone wheels in addition to the on/off toggle switch that engages this circuit, which adds a darker tone cap exclusively for use on the neck pickup. The vibrato unit is smooth and responsive, actuating easily for surfy warbles and dives and working in concert with the bridge which has individually height-adjustable barrel saddles. The hardware and plastic parts are practically perfect, with gleaming chrome plating. The custom color Sherwood Green gloss finish exhibits some tiny dings and faint finish scratches on the back, and a couple additional minor marks on the body edge at the bass-side waist. The satin finish on the neck profile is pristine. The original Fender-branded gigbag is included.***We are dealers for the Mastery M2 bridge, Mastery OMV-P Offset Vibrato, and Lollar Jaguar pickups, any of which can be installed or included prior to shipment for an additional charge***
