Up for sale, a 2019 Takamine P3DC-12LH left-handed 12-string dreadnought acoustic/electric in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. This 12-string is part of Takamine’s top-of-the-line Pro Series, featuring a scalloped X-braced solid cedar top, solid sapele back and sapele sides, an African mahogany neck, a rosewood fingerboard, and Takamine’s CT-4BII preamp system. The tonewood complement yields a rich, harmonically-complex sound, combining the natural chime of a 12-string with the power and articulation inherent to the dreadnought shape. The cedar top ensures a certain midrange warmth, the trebles are smooth and singing, and there’s plenty of muscle and darkness to the lows. The natural tone is faithfully captured by the onboard electronics, and the CT-4BII preamp system has a three-band graphic EQ for ideal on-stage versatility. This P3DC-12 weighs 5lbs 9oz, benefitting from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-47 bronze strings and easy-playing action. The African mahogany neck has a modestly chunky C-shaped profile carve with well-rounded shoulders in every register, measuring .860” deep at the 1st fret and .975” at the 9th. The dark rosewood fingerboard has maple “dot-in-dot” inlay, and the medium fretwire is practically perfect, only exhibiting a hint of wear beneath the plain string pairs on the crowns of frets 1-3. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25.375” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the carved bone nut measures an easily-navigable 1.825” in width. On the headstock, the gold Takamine-branded tuning machines turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch, with amber buttons. The rosewood bridge is fitted with a tall bone saddle, sporting Takamine’s unique “split-saddle” design for optimal intonation. The electronics all function as intended, and the CT-4BII features three-band graphic EQ sliders, plus a Volume slider, as well as a built-in tuner. The satin natural finish exhibits only some pick scuffing along the strum path, and a few additional faint finish scratches on the body as a whole. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile is pristine. The original Takamine-branded hardshell case is included, along with a user manual for the preamp.
