Up for sale, a 2019 Gibson ES-235 in near mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original padded, zippered Gibson case, and all of the original hangtags and case candy. Finished in gloss Ebony nitro lacquer, the ES-235 was a limited run (now discontinued) model inspired by the ES-125TDC yet with a scaled down body size for added comfort and better feedback rejection. The semi-hollow body features maple/poplar/maple three-ply construction with a maple center block and spruce bracing, providing an extremely resonant, snappy, and sweet-sounding tonal platform for the Burstbucker Pro PAF humbuckers.
The Burstbucker Pros are a slightly hot-rodded version of Gibson's Burstbucker PAF, with unmatched bobbin windings and Alnico V magnets (in place of the usual Alnico II). The sound is fat and meaty, interacting well with high gain amps and providing excellent feedback rejection while having a general tonal profile consistent with the PAF design. Whether you seek warm, silky neck pickup tonalities or bridge pickup sounds that have some push and growl, this ES is a great candidate for covering a wide range of genres. Featherweight at 6lbs 10oz, we've had this ES-235 professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
The one-piece maple neck has a modestly chunky C profile carve (Gibson classifies this neck shape as a "Rounded C") with notable fullness and shoulder in every register, measuring .860" deep at the 1st fret and .945" at the 12th. The dark rosewood fretboard features pristine medium jumbo fretwire, and the guitar plays easily up the 24 3/4" scale with a straight neck and optimally adjusted truss rod. The genuine bone nut measures 1 11/16" in width, and the headstock features Gibson Deluxe Kluson-style tuners with white buttons and push-in bushings.
All of the electronics function as intended, and the pickup baseplates feature PAF stickers and date stickers from 2018. The nickel hardware and plastic parts are flawless, and the Ebony Gloss nitro lacquer finish is showroom clean with barely a scratch on it save for a few light pick marks across the strum path.
The original padded, zippered Gibson case is included, along with the original case candy and factory paperwork.
