Up for sale, a 2019 Fujigen FGN Neo Classic NJB10MBAH electric bass in near mint condition and in perfect working order. As the factory best known for Fender Japan's output in their golden "Made in Japan" era, Fujigen also continues to craft spectacular instruments under their own banner. This modern bass replicates all the essential details of the ‘70s Jazz Bass platform, with a maple neck and bound fretboard with block inlay, a stock pair of passive J Bass-style pickups, and a distinctive gloss transparent Blueburst finish over the prominent grain of the contoured ash body. The tonewood combination of ash and maple pairs the complex midrange character and great note attack of ash with the snappy articulation and top end detail of maple. The passive pickup pair delivers a tone with a throaty midrange bump, sweet treble growl, and a full, resonant bass register that can get plenty thumpy with the Tone knob rolled back to taste. This FGN weighs 9lbs 5oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with roundwound 45-105 strings and comfortable action.
The one-piece maple neck has a rounded U shape with modest depth. gaining a bit more heft and roundness in the higher registers, measuring .835” deep at the 1st fret and .985” at the 12th. The bound maple fretboard features pearloid block inlay and pristine medium jumbo fretwire. The bass plays easily in all registers up the straight neck with an ideally adjusted and responsive truss rod. Per traditional J Bass specs, the scale length is a full 34“, and the nut measures 1 1/2“ in width. The headstock features nickel-plated clover button tuners which turn smoothly and function as intended.
On the body, the pickup pair is wired to a traditional Jazz Bass control array with individual Volume knobs for each pickup and a Master Tone control. The hardware and plastic parts show sparingly little wear, and the clear factory protective plastic is still present on the pearloid pickguard., a testament to the sparingly little use this bass has seen since new. The transparent Blueburst finish is bold and glossy, with just a few very faint finish scratches on the body as a whole. The neck profile is pristine.
The original FGN padded gigbag is included, along with the warranty card with matching serial.
