Up for sale, a 2019 Fender Traditional ‘70s Telecaster Custom in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original gigbag and hangtags. This “Made in Japan” Tele Custom faithfully captures the look and feel of a genuine ‘70s example, featuring an ash body and a one-piece maple neck with a substantial U-shaped profile carve.
With a Wide Range humbucker in the neck position and a traditional Tele single coil at the bridge, this Tele has a very broad tonal spectrum, from thick-yet-articulate tones in the neck position to chiming, twangy single coil tones at the bridge. The middle position is truly a "best of both worlds" setting, and the two pickups balance well both in terms of output and their respective tonal attributes. Weighing 7lbs 10oz, this guitar has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
The one-piece maple neck has a chunky U-shaped profile carve with full shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .870” deep at the 1st fret and .930” at the 12th. The fretboard has a modern 9 1/2“ radius, and the slender fretwire is pristine. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the bone nut measures 1.650” (42mm) in width. The headstock sports a block logo, bullet truss rod nut, and chrome-plated Gotoh tuning machines.
All of the electronics function as intended, with the pickups governed by independent sets of Volume and Tone controls and a three-way pickup selector switch. The hardware is all notably clean, including the “Fender”-embossed Wide Range humbucker cover, “Pat. Pend” bridge base and trio of steel barrel saddles. Plastics comprise the quartet of witch hat knobs and the large three-ply pickguard; the pickguard retains the factory protective film and model advert, and the Wide Range humbucker still has its protective plastic too.
Cosmetic wear on the gloss Black finish is limited to a single small nick on the treble-side lower bout perimeter and just a scant few faint scratches in the clear coat on the body as a whole. The gloss finish on the neck profile is immaculate.
The original Fender-branded gigbag is included, along with the hangtags
