Up for sale, a 2019 Fender Limited Collection Jazzmaster electric guitar in near-mint condition and perfect working order, complete with the original COA, hangtags, and hardshell case. A short-lived product line representing Fender Japan's highest tier, the Limited Collection models were released in sparingly small quantities and are no longer offered as part of Fender Japan's lineup. This example hails from the Spring/Summer 2019 collection, with absolutely no corners cut and premium features throughout including a two-piece select alder body, a nitro lacquer Ocean Turquoise Metallic gloss finish, Fender American Vintage gray bobbin pickups, USA-made CTS pots, a 9 1/2" fretboard radius and corresponding bridge with barrel saddles, a bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid block inlay and 22 fret range, locking tuning machines, and Fender USA plastics.
Providing a particularly broad tonal range, the stock American Vintage '65 Jazzmaster pickups take full advantage of the lively and clear acoustic voice of the alder-bodied instrument, with a bright, glassy bridge pickup sound and plenty of midrange bark and girth in the neck position. With both pickups engaged it's a true "best of both worlds" sonic scenario, and when switching to the Rhythm Circuit on the lower body horn, the sound is exquisitely thick. The guitar weighs 8lbs 2oz, benefiting from a professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
The maple neck has Fender's "Modern C" profile carve, an easy-playing slender shape with modest shoulders at the nut and a hair more heft further up the fretboard, measuring .820" deep at the 1st fret and .880" at the 12th. The bound rosewood fretboard features pearloid block inlay and a modern 9 1/2" radius, with flawless tall slender fretwire. The scale length is a full 25 1/2", and the carved bone nut measures 1.650" in width (42mm). The headstock sports a Pre-CBS style "Spaghetti" Jazzmaster logo, with Kluson-style locking tuning machines which turn smoothly and hold pitch well.
All of the electronics function flawlessly, the chrome hardware shines like new, and the plastic parts are clean as can be. The vibrato unit has a threaded arm, working smoothly and engages easily for quick warbles and surfy dives. The gloss Ocean Turquoise Metallic finish veers more towards blue than some OTM iterations, yet still has a greenish tint. The gloss nitro lacquer body finish is an option only currently seen on Fender's Limited Collection models, and the gloss has barely a scratch on it, with an equally clean satin lacquer finish on the neck profile.
This original hardshell case is included, along with the original COA, built sheet, and hangtags.
