Up for sale, a 2019 Fender Hybrid 60s Telecaster in exceptional, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original gigbag. A discontinued short run custom color example with a gloss Gunmetal Blue metallic finish, the Hybrid 60s model is one of the finest Tele iterations ever produced by Fender Japan (and a model not available in the USA market), simply stunning in its forward-thinking design and player-friendly features. The guitar features an alder body, USA-made Fender Pure Vintage '58 Tele pickups, USA-made CTS pots, four-way series/parallel switching, brass saddles, a bone nut, medium jumbo fretwire, locking Kluson-style tuners, and a silky smooth satin neck profile finish.
The Pure Vintage '58 Fender pickups translate the guitar's ample acoustic properties into a vital palette of traditional Tele tones. With alnico V magnets, black fiber bobbins, a copper baseplate on the bridge pickup, and push-back cloth-covered leads, the pickups are extremely faithful to vintage spec. There's ample chewy twang and sparkle on tap in the bridge position, with a sweet, bell-like neck pickup and a very welcome 4th position on the blade switch, engaging both pickups in series for a particularly big and bold sound. Lightweight at 6lbs 13oz, this Tele has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
The maple neck has a medium depth U-shaped profile carve with generous shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .875” deep at the 1st fret and .935” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard is a dark cut with a modern 9 1/2" radius, and the medium jumbo fretwire is flawless. This guitar plays cleanly up the 25 1/2“ scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod, and the carved bone nut measures just a hair shy of 1 11/16” in width (42.5mm). On the headstock, the Kluson-style locking tuning machines turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch.
The electronics function flawlessly, with full-size USA-made 250K CTS pots and a four-way pickup selector toggle governing the Fender Pure Vintage '58 Tele pickup pair (both pickups are engaged in series in the 4th switch position). The brass bridge saddles deliver ideal top end zing and twang, and the chrome-plated hardware and plastic parts are nigh flawless. The custom color Gunmetal Blue gloss exhibits just a few small dings and faint finish scratches on the body as a whole. The satin finish on the neck profile is pristine.
